Municipal council summary

Les Amis de Mont-Tremblant were present at the municipal and agglomeration council meetings on June 10:

Modifications to the urban planning regulations: We asked why zoning changes are being proposed and who is requesting them. In addition, it is very difficult to find criteria for each of the PIIA sectors that could be affected.

Mont-Timber: We asked when the information session would take place at Station Tremblant. Julie Godard, Director General, wrote to us on June 13 specifying that it would be in the fall.

Strategic Plan: Deputy Mayor Dominique Laverdure informed us that the Ville will present the new strategic plan in September.

The Ville retained the services of DHC Avocats to defend a $1,000,000.00 lawsuit filed by Projet Vivo (Gray Rocks/Lac Ouimet).

The Ville rejected a request to sell land located near rue Charbonneau and rue de l’École.

2020-2022 chemin du Village (staircase and parking area): The angle of the staircase was not studied during the design process of this project. Despite the problem, the Ville granted the owners’ request. This situation is unacceptable and officials must crack down.

2032 chemin du Village: We asked if the Ville would allow the demolition of this house given the request to create land with a frontage of 29.38 m rather than 37.5 m. Billie-Jeanne Graton replied: “over my dead body.” We agree with the District No. 2 councillor; well done Mme Graton.

Approved: lot depth at 1850 chemin du Village (Chalet Charlie): The Ville wants to subdivide this land to have access to the beach near the church. To protect Chalet Charlie, Les Amis de Mont-Tremblant remains vigilant and is following this matter closely.

Approved: expansion at 884-890 rue de Saint-Jovite (le Grill). The request was to authorise a different exterior covering and a veranda which encroaches 2 metres on the facade. The owner Fréderic Escotte is also a member of the CCU.

PFD Avocats was retained by the Ville to defend a judicial review for a zoning change in the rue Cuttle sector launched by the Syndicat des copropriétaires LAGO Tremblant.
