LAGO: the “poster child” of what should absolutely be avoided in Mont-Tremblant
La Presse’s investigative unit published an important article about LAGO Lac Tremblant:
A controversial project and developer: “Neighbors accuse the Ville of having issued building permits in an ‘illegal’ manner, and the developer of concealing problems in ‘fraudulent’ sales deeds” — La Presse.
“The deputy mayor’s company involved” — La Presse.
Our point of view: This project is one of those which led to the founding of Les Amis de Mont-Tremblant. It should never have seen the light of day because of its high density, its excessive height, its total lack of integration into its environment and its negative effects on the neighborhood. We are very disappointed that the Ville recently authorized the construction of a car elevator that will emit up to 70 decibels and we encourage the Ville to remain extremely vigilant and to use its powers in the face of this developer’s requests.
