The Pura Vida Tremblant Inc. project (led by Joseph Zakher) defies mathematical logic. Although the building permit only authorizes two floors, photographic evidence presented by Les Amis to the Municipal Council in 2024 reveals a structure that clearly has four floors. Despite this evidence, the Ville has persisted in claiming that “the project is compliant.”
Extended Deadlines: The first building permit was issued in 2021, but work has been extended once again. The permit for 150 Chemin Desmarais is now valid until April 1, 2026, while the permit for 170 Chemin Desmarais has been extended until July 4, 2026.
Change of Course: The project has strategically shifted from a residential vocation toward a commercial one.
170 Chemin Desmarais: This building features 12 bedrooms and an elevator—a true architectural feat for a construction supposed to consist of only “two floors.”
Our point of view: Les Amis denounce the approval of the first building (No. 150), which sets an unacceptable precedent. We are officially calling on the Ville to avoid repeating the same mistake for the second building (No. 170). The Ville must demand rigorous compliance before granting or extending any further permits.
